Day 1 – Kandy, temple of the Tooth Relic
Meet & greet by the driver cum guide by the airport, beach hotel in Negombo or Colombo. Then you will be directed in to an air condition, comfortable car & drive to Kandy town, the drive will take about 4 hours with Sri Lankan traffic on the road. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings which is a World Heritage Site. The name “Kandy” conjures visions of splendor and magnificence. Many of the legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive. Drive around the Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala king, Sri Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798. Visit the Kandy town and Bazaar, the arts & crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary. Also if you are interested in Gems & Jewellery you could visit the gem museum shops in the area which is famous for so many years.
evening visit the temple of the tooth relic of the Buddha and witness a nice Sri Lanka traditional dance ceremony. Overnight stay in Thilanka hotel in Kandy.
Day 2 – Tea Factory visits & Nuwaraeliya town
Morning visit Sigiriya Fortress which is called as the “Eight Wonder” of the world by Sri Lankans for its gigantic 5th century made palace complex & the architecture style. Today is an early start by 7Am to climb the rock (Earlier the better without hot Sun and more groups)
After climb the rock we visit Hiriwadunna village area to feel and experience the rural day to day life of a farmer. Starting with a Hand tractor ride through the village to the lake then a boat ride in the lake, visit farmers house for a cup of tea, learn and cook with the farmer’s wife, enjoy the Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch with your hands like a Sri Lankan, Tuk tuk ride to the main road. Overnight stay Vaana resort Habarana.
Day 3 – Train ride from Nuwaraeliya to Ella
Today we do the scenic train journey from Nuwaraeliya to Ella passing the highest elevated train stain in Sri Lanka called “Pattipola”. Visit famous nine arch bridge for a photo and mini Adams peak for a breath taking view. Overnight stay in Dream café guest house in Ella.
Day 4 – Udawalawa Elephant orphanage
Drive to Udawalawa Elephan orphanage to see the baby elephants, on the way stop at Ravana falls for a photo.
Udawalawe National Park – It was established in 1972 with an area of 30,800 hectares.
This park is a home for herds of Elephants. There are approximately between 300-400 Elephants
living in the park. Besides Elephants you could also come across Deer, Samber, Hornbills, Peafowl
and various other mammals and birds. Jeep safari to Udawalawe National park to see the wild elephants. Over night stay at Centuriya wild hotel / Grand Udawalawa resort
Day 5 – Mirissa beach
Today a relax drive to Mirissa, one of the best beaches in Sri lanka. Evening relax near by the sea.
Day 6 – Mirissa beach
If you would love to do some activities such as snorkeling or blue whale, dolphin watching this is the place for you.
Day 7 – Galle city tour
After breakfast head towards Galle and visit the historic Dutch Fort.
Resembling a living model of a colonial Dutch town, the Galle Fort – as the locals call it – is simply a masterpiece of architecture, history and tradition. Most of all, the fort resembles a unique way of life, perfectly preserved to date. The roads, with their unique Dutch names, and buildings with traditional European architectural designs simply speak out the historic treasures each thick wall and each paved road exemplify.
Turtle hatchery tour will show you the five different turtles out of the seven specious in the world. Finally take the new Southern express highway to reach Colombo.
